Lucènci Reset Acne Toner
A nightly acne toner that clears active breakouts at the source — not just at the surface. Built around 1% salicylic acid + 3% Agrimonia Pilosa Extract (Eraser X™) to decongest pores, reduce sebum production, calm inflammation, and rebuild the skin barrier — all in one step.
Most BHA toners do one thing: dissolve the keratin plug inside the pore. They ignore the three other drivers of acne — excessive sebum production, bacterial overgrowth, and inflammation — and pair the BHA with alcohol that damages the barrier in the same pass. Reset addresses all four, with no alcohol.
1% salicylic acid works inside the pore lining to dissolve blackheads, whiteheads, and the keratin plugs that become cystic breakouts. 3% Eraser X™ — a Korean patent-extracted agrimony complex — reduces sebum production at the sebocyte level, inhibits acne-causing bacteria, and shuts down inflammatory signaling. The Hyaluronan-16™ multi-complex rebuilds the barrier with multi-depth hydration, while Aloe Heal Gold and 1% PDRN-J Ginseng™ — a medical-grade plant-derived regeneration molecule used by dermatologists in clinic-tier skin booster procedures — accelerate the actual wound-healing of inflamed pores.
Visibly clearer skin in 4 weeks, without the dryness, the stinging, or the post-toner moisturizer cascade most BHAs demand.
Formulated in India at Pranir Labs, our partner facility. Third-party tested for heavy metals, microbiology, and stability. Vegan, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free.
How it actually works
The Five-Pathway Acne Treatment System
Acne has four biological drivers — and recovery from acne treatment has one more. Most BHA toners hit one pathway. Reset hits all five.
| Pathway | Active | Mechanism |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Pore blockage | 1% Salicylic Acid (BHA) | The only over-the-counter acid that’s oil-soluble — dissolves directly into the sebum inside the pore and breaks up the keratin plug that becomes a blackhead, whitehead, or cystic breakout.1,2,3 |
| 2. Sebum + bacteria + inflammation | 3% Eraser X™ (Agrimonia Pilosa Extract) | A Korean patent-extracted complex from Agrimonia pilosa, processed through microbubble extraction technology. Clinically shown to reduce sebum production at the sebocyte level, inhibit P. acnes bacterial growth, suppress inflammatory cytokines, and even reduce acne-related itching.4,5 |
| 3. Barrier damage | 1% Hyaluronan-16™ Multi-Complex | 16 different forms of hyaluronic acid — its salts and bioactive derivatives — spanning multiple molecular weights for multi-depth skin penetration. Includes bound retinol, vitamin C, zinc, and silicon for cellular turnover and barrier support.6,7,8 |
| 4. Skin repair | 2% Aloe Heal Gold | A premium aloe vera complex enriched with gold particles. Clinical literature supports aloe vera for accelerated wound healing, anti-inflammatory action, and reduced erythema in acne-prone skin.9,10 |
| 5. Tissue regeneration | 1% PDRN-J Ginseng™ | A medical-grade regeneration molecule originally used in dermatologist-administered skin booster procedures. Activates A2A adenosine receptors to trigger collagen synthesis, accelerate cellular repair after BHA exfoliation, and reduce inflammation at the gene-expression level.11,12,13,14 |
About Eraser X™ (Agrimonia Pilosa Extract)
Agrimony is a perennial plant native to Korea, Japan, China, and Eastern Europe, traditionally used in Korean medicine for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. J2K Metabiome developed a patent-registered microbubble extraction technology (Korea Patent 10-2222661) that concentrates the active polyphenols and sebum-regulating compounds at much higher potency than conventional extraction.
Per J2K’s in-vitro and clinical data, Eraser X™ demonstrates:
- Significant reduction in sebum production in sebocytes (clinically measured)
- Visible pore improvement in human clinical trials
- Anti-inflammatory action against acne-related cytokines
- Anti-itching effect via suppression of itch-related gene expression
- Inhibition of P. acnes bacterial overgrowth
At 3% concentration in Reset, this is the upper end of supplier's recommended dosage range (1–5%) — chosen specifically for high-sebum Indian climates.
About PDRN-J Ginseng™ (Plant Polydeoxyribonucleotide)
PDRN — polydeoxyribonucleotide — is one of the most-studied regeneration molecules in clinical dermatology. Originally developed as an injectable medical treatment for chronic wounds (under brand names like Placentex® in Europe).
How PDRN works: PDRN fragments bind to A2A adenosine receptors on skin cells — the same receptors that govern healing, collagen synthesis, and anti-inflammatory response. The result, demonstrated in dozens of clinical studies:
- Accelerated wound healing and tissue regeneration
- Increased collagen and elastin synthesis
- Reduced inflammatory cytokines (the molecules behind acne redness and swelling)
- Improved cell proliferation and skin density
Why our PDRN is different: Most PDRN on the market is extracted from salmon DNA — effective, but not vegan and a concern for fish-allergic users. PDRN-J Ginseng™ is one of the first plant-derived PDRNs available, extracted from Panax ginseng. Same A2A adenosine receptor mechanism, with the added benefit of ginseng’s own adaptogenic anti-inflammatory and anti-aging compounds.
Reset includes PDRN-J Ginseng™ at 1% — a clinically meaningful daily-use dose that delivers the regeneration benefits of an in-clinic PDRN procedure in a topical format.
Why the barrier matters with a BHA
Salicylic acid is the most effective acne ingredient ever discovered, but most BHA toners pair it with alcohol denat. and astringents that strip the barrier in the same pass. Reset reverses the formulation: the BHA + Eraser X™ target acne from four angles, while four barrier-supporting actives rebuild the skin you’re treating. The result is clearer skin without the typical “BHA dryness” cycle.
Supporting actives
- Pullulan — a polysaccharide film-former that gives an instant skin-tightening finish
- Pentylene Glycol — humectant + natural preservative booster
- Sodium Gluconate — mild chelator that protects the formula from oxidative degradation
What we refused to include
- Alcohol denat. — the most common “cheap penetration enhancer” in BHA toners. Strips the lipid barrier we’re trying to rebuild.
- Witch hazel + astringents — the “clean feel” of dryness, not actual decongestion
- Triclosan + benzoyl peroxide — outdated anti-acne ingredients that disrupt the skin microbiome long-term
- Fragrance & essential oils — the leading triggers for cosmetic skin reactions, especially on inflamed acne-prone skin

How to use
- Cleanse with a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser. Pat dry.
- Pour 4–5 drops onto a cotton pad and sweep across face and neck, focusing on the T-zone, jawline, and any congested areas.
- Wait 60 seconds for the BHA to penetrate the pore lining.
- Follow with a hydrating serum, then a lightweight moisturizer.
- In the morning, always finish with broad-spectrum SPF 30+. Salicylic acid increases sun sensitivity.
Frequency: Start every other night for the first week, then nightly as tolerated. Spot-treat with a saturated cotton pad on active congestion overnight.
Tip: a brief tingling on areas of active acne is normal. The salicylic acid is doing exactly what it should.
What to expect
- Week 1–2: Reduced midday shine — this is Eraser X™ suppressing sebum production. Existing whiteheads and blackheads soften and lift more easily. A brief “skin purge” (1–3 new small breakouts) is possible as deep congestion surfaces.
- Week 3–4: Active breakouts reduce significantly in size and frequency. Pore congestion noticeably decreases. Itching and irritation from inflamed acne reduces.
- Week 6–8: Pores appear visibly smaller and less visible. Skin tone evens out. Barrier feels stronger thanks to the Hyaluronan-16™ multi-depth hydration.
- Week 12+: Cumulative clearing. Most users report 60–80% reduction in routine breakouts and dramatically less midday shine.
Salicylic acid is the gold standard for acne control. Eraser X™ addresses what salicylic acid doesn’t. Consistency over 8–12 weeks beats any short-term harsh treatment.
“Most BHA toners treat one driver of acne and ignore the other three. Reset is the first toner in India to combine salicylic acid with a clinical-grade sebum and inflammation regulator. The science fits Indian oily skin perfectly.” — Kusuma, Founder

FAQs
What is PDRN-J Ginseng™?
PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a medical-grade regeneration molecule originally developed as an injectable wound-healing treatment in clinical dermatology. It activates A2A adenosine receptors on skin cells to trigger collagen synthesis, accelerate healing, and reduce inflammation. Most commercial PDRN is extracted from salmon DNA; PDRN-J Ginseng™ is one of the first plant-derived PDRN. Reset gives you 1% PDRN topically for daily continuous regeneration.
What is Eraser X™?
Eraser X™ is the trade name for a 100%-natural Agrimonia pilosa (Korean agrimony) extract from J2K Metabiome, produced via a Korea-patented microbubble extraction technology. Unlike most acne actives that target one driver, Eraser X™ addresses four simultaneously: it reduces sebum production at the sebocyte level, inhibits P. acnes bacteria, calms inflammation, and even reduces acne-related itching. Reset uses it at 3% — the upper end of the recommended 1–5% dosage range.
What makes this different from other salicylic acid toners?
Three things: (1) the 3% Eraser X™ complex that addresses sebum, bacteria, and inflammation — the three drivers of acne that salicylic acid alone doesn’t touch, (2) the Hyaluronan-16™ multi-complex that rebuilds the barrier across multiple molecular depths, and (3) the absence of alcohol denat. that most BHA toners use as a cheap penetration enhancer. Reset clarifies without stripping.
Can I use this with the Acne Defense Serum?
Yes — this is the recommended “acne hero pairing.” Use Reset toner first (after cleansing), wait 60 seconds, then apply Acne Defense Serum. Reset handles the active breakouts, sebum, and bacteria; the serum handles the dark marks (PIH) the breakouts leave behind. Together they cover both halves of the acne cycle.
Can I use this with retinol or glycolic acid?
Not on the same night. Alternate: Reset one night, retinol or AHA the next. Layering acids increases the risk of barrier damage.
Will this dry out my skin?
This formulation is specifically buffered with the Hyaluronan-16™ multi-complex and the aloe complex to prevent the dryness most salicylic acid products cause. If your skin feels tight, scale back to every other night and add a heavier moisturizer.
Is it safe for pregnancy?
No — salicylic acid in skincare is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your OB/GYN for safe alternatives.
How long does one bottle last?
With nightly use (4–5 drops), a 130 mL bottle lasts approximately 12–14 weeks.
Where is it made?
Formulated and manufactured in India at Pranir Labs, our partner facility. All batches are third-party tested for heavy metals, microbiology, and stability.
What if my skin reacts?
Mild tingling on active acne is normal. If you experience persistent redness, burning, or peeling, stop use and email us at hello@lucenciskin.com.
